Pure obsidian is usually dark in appearance, though the color varies depending on the presence of impurities.  An iridescent, rainbow-like sheen in rainbow obsidian is caused by inclusions of magnetite nanoparticles 

Against an intense light , one can see lovely green and purple streaks in this stone, 

nicely polished and perfect for a worry stone

Like most Citrine on the market today, this Citrine has been heat treated to deepen the color.

It's not visible in this photo but there are a couple little rainbows in this stone.
